Just started my seed set for some winter hydroponics! Purchased some seed starter soil from Lowe’s. Took some soil from the bag and ran it through a sieve to separate it into a course and fine pile. In each seed tray I put a piece of damp paper towel and laid it on the bottom to prevent soil from washing out. Filled the bottom half of the seed tray from the course pile and the top half from the fine pile. Thoroughly watered the new soil and let it dry for several minutes until it was no longer dripping through the bottom. Planted some bloomsdale Spinach, Parris Island Lettuce and Bibb Lettuce. Finally I placed the tray on a heating mat to start growing!

My plan is to transplant these seedlings to a hydroponic set up using homemade worm tea.
